Lake Anosy

Lake Anosy [anˈuːsi] (French: Lac Anosy) is a fake lake in the southern piece of the capital city of Madagascar, Antananarivo, around two miles south of Haute-Ville.[1] Ampefiloha is situated toward the west of the lake, Isoraka toward the northwest and Mahamasina toward the north. A bog was supplanted with Lake Anosy during the period of the ruler Radama I. The lake was built by James Cameron who provided it with a state of a heart. In the lake, there is an island associated with the city by an isthmus. On the island there is a French-constructed remembrance to those fallen in WWI, the Landmark aux Morts[2][1] made by stone worker Barberis and draftsman Perrin in 1927.[3] In the Radama I time there was an explosive manufacturing plant on the island. Later there was constructed a mid year home for the Sovereign Ranavalona I. By the lakeside there develop jacaranda trees that blossom in October [1] and November. Incredible egrets used to take a rest by the lake. By the southern shore, there are hairdressers' kiosks.[1] On the public autonomy day, June 26, a yearly firecracker celebration is organized on the lake.
